5th April 2013

KATHY COLEMAN’s latest single release He Still Remembers is from her successful 2nd album Hot & Bothered and is a very special song.

It is always a difficult task to write a song about a heartbreaking illness that affects so many people as they approach their golden years, but Kathy has achieved that with this song about Dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease.

The song was written after a close friend’s father developed Alzheimer’s and could no longer stay in the family home. The heartbreak that her and her mother experienced each and every time they visited him in the nursing home left them both leaving in tears.

He Still Remembers was voted # 1 song at Kathy’s album launch back in November 2011 and brings tears to the audience when she performs this song live. The song also won “Best Traditional Country Song” at the 2012 Canberra Country Music Awards and placed 2nd in the Ballad Category of the National Australian Songwriters Association Songwriting Awards in December 2012, Australia’s largest songwriting competition.

The Dementia/Alzheimer’s organisation has been made aware of this very special song and will be promoting it on their Facebook page to coincide with the single release to radio. Kathy’s star is shining brightly after an unbelievable year in 2012 with Kathy being shortlisted in the 2013 APRA Professional Development Awards to be announced at the end of March.
